Local history
About Pine & Strawberry, Arizona
Pine and Strawberry are neighboring mountain communities in northwestern Gila County, about 15 miles north of Payson on SR 87. Four Mormon families settled Pine in 1879, and its post office opened in 1884. Strawberry sits just to the northwest, and its 1880s log schoolhouse is one of the oldest standing schoolhouses in Arizona. The two towns have a few thousand full-time residents, and many more cabin owners arrive each summer.
What's behind the walls in Pine-Strawberry
Most homes here are cabins, A-frames and manufactured homes on wooded lots, many built between the 1970s and the 1990s. Water lines often run through crawl spaces or under raised floors, and a lot of owners are part-time or retired. That combination means a small leak under the floor can go unseen until the subfloor is soft.

Calls we get most in Pine-Strawberry
- Frozen and burst pipes under raised floors and in crawl spaces
- Cabin leaks found after a weekend or a season away

Get Help in Pine-Strawberry(833) 937-0179Winter on the edge of the Rim
Pine's northern edge follows the Mogollon Rim, and the area gets real winters with snow and long freezing nights. Heavy snow on cabin roofs can create ice dams that push melt water under shingles. In summer, monsoon storms send runoff down Pine Creek and the local drainages toward the East Verde River, and homes near those channels can see water in crawl spaces.

Why homeowners in Pine-Strawberry call us
Fast first response
We get water out first, because speed limits damage and mold.
Straight answers
We tell you what's covered, what isn't and what it should cost.
Clean job sites
Containment and floor protection keep dust out of the rest of the house.
Follow-through
We check readings daily and keep you posted until the job is closed.
From wet to dry, step by step
Water rarely stays where you see it. It runs under baseboards, into cabinet toe-kicks, under raised floors and across the slab, so we trace it with meters before we pull anything. Then we extract, set containment if needed, and dry until each material reaches its target reading.
How much will this cost?
Insurance often pays for sudden damage like a burst supply line, so your out-of-pocket cost may be your deductible. Without coverage, typical drying runs $1,000 to $5,000. We put the scope and price in writing after an on-site look.

Knowledge center: water damage in Pine-Strawberry
Do you serve both Pine and Strawberry?
Yes. We take calls from both communities in ZIP 85544 and from nearby Payson.
My cabin pipes froze while I was away. What should I do first?
Shut off the water at the main, turn off power to wet areas if it is safe, and take photos. Then call so drying can start before mold sets in.
Can a crawl space be dried?
Yes. We remove standing water and wet insulation, then use dehumidifiers and air movers to bring the framing and subfloor back to dry readings.
Does insurance cover a vacant cabin?
It depends on the policy. Some limit coverage when a home sits empty for a long time or was not heated. Read the vacancy terms and call your agent early.
How long does drying take?
Most homes dry in three to five days. Dense materials such as hardwood or a wet slab can take longer. We check readings daily and remove equipment only when materials reach dry goals.
